Getting Down to Business

1. What is your job profile?

Customer Service Representative at Medtronic

2. What characteristic or behavior do you most attribute your success to, and why?

Perseverance. If I don't know something, I try, try and keep trying until I find the solution. Attempt - error - attempt - achieve.

3. And to what behavior would you attribute some of your failures?

I used to be very impulsive and that can cost you a lot of things.

4. What was your first job?

Administrative assistant, at a public school, in Brazil.

5. Do you feel like you have made mistakes in your career? Did you learn a valuable lesson from those mistakes?

Yes. I used to say everything that would come to my head. I think have become more selective in the things I say out loud.

6. What energizes you at work?

Learning new things.

7. In your opinion, what is the most valuable soft skill you look for in a person that you need to work with?

Empathy. The capacity of being nice despite of your walk of life.

8. What are your thoughts about diversity & inclusion programs?

I really like these programs. My company is the first, I think, in the Netherlands, to have an inclusion program for the whole LGBT community.

9. Describe your perfect day at work?

When there are no problems and there is peace between the team based here and the one in Portugal.

10. Are you more afraid of failure or success?

I am more afraid of failure.

11. What drains you at work?

Gossip about colleagues.

12. If you could write a book about your life, what would the title be and why?

Something cheesy to my old self. Goodbye Old Amanda 

13. What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?

Most people don't know that I have a good heart and I like to help others.

14. What’s one thing you’re learning now, and why is it important?

I am taking my driver's license. It will give me more independence.

15. What was the biggest lesson from last year?

I know it’s a cliché but is true. That I am way stronger than what I thought I was.

16. What’s something you saw recently that made you smile?

Sometimes what makes me smile is to stop and think about my goal. I can see that step by step I am achieving, and this puts a smile on my face.

17. What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received?

That I push my self to the limit.

18. What subject were you good at in school?

English and Biology.

19. How would you describe the feeling of being in love in one word?

Blindness.

20. Do you have a question that you are trying to answer most in your life right now?

I have been asked my self a lot if I m happy.

21. Do you think the image you have of yourself matches the image people see?

No, I think is totally different.

22. Are you missing any right now? Do you think they are missing you too?

Yes, my family. And I hope that they are missing me too.

24. Would you rather live without the internet or live without AC and heating?

Without Ac and heating.

25. What are some things you want to accomplish before you die?

I’d like to travel as much as possible.

26. What’s the most interesting thing you’ve read or seen this week?

I learned about a project for inclusion of autistic people, in California.

27. What’s the top destination on your must-visit list?

Scotland.

28. Would you rather go back to age 5 with everything you know now or know now everything your future self will learn?

Know now everything my future self will learn, definitely.

29. Would you rather be an amazing painter or a brilliant mathematician?

An amazing painter

One.

31. Would you rather have unlimited international first-class tickets to travel or never have to pay for food at restaurants?

Never have to pay for food at restaurants, of course.

32. What’s one item you want to own that you don’t?

A camera.

33. Do you have a hidden talent? What is it?

Writing.

34. Do you think it is important for companies to know that people are more than a job profile?

Yes. It is super important. Companies need to look beyond numbers.
