Creatives and creators: do your own thing. Don’t knock the next man’s effort.

It’s mind blowing that a lot of us are doing what we’re doing in order to reach the same purpose which is pushing this thing of ours forward while mastering our craft regardless of the activity we’re in, but still, some of us are still able to criticise top notch players for doing what they’re supposed to do. Prime example: have you seen the way Kevin Hart has been bashed by his peers over the amazing amount of work that he’s been putting in since the beginning of his career? For the average spectator, Kev may be just some funny black comedian/actor who popped out of nowhere and got lucky with his movie roles (I don’t even think the average spectator would think that way). But we’ve been following this guy’s career since “Paper Soldiers”. I said “Paper Soldiers”. This was Roc-A-Fella Films production. That’s early 2000’s. Think about it, when this movie was released, Jay-Z was a Roc-A-Fella artist (and owner, of course) and him and Damon Dash were still cool with each other. That’s how long Kevin Hart has been on his grind. It amazes me that his fellow comedians, who should give him his props for doing what has never been done in comedy, both on screen and during his tour stops, can use platforms like radio and social media to talk down on this man like he doesn’t go hard or hard-ER than them when it comes to what differentiates him from everybody else: work ethic. We all have the same 24 hours, if your peer chose to manage them better than you, hey, sometimes life ain’t nothing but a whole bunch of choices my guys. This guy is doing movies, he’s on tour, running marathons, managing his own companies (plural), making partnerships with studios like Universal, etc, all of that while minding his own business (literally and figuratively). Study him and figure out what you can do better to get better results for yourselves. Complaining about the next man’s success, stating what he is or isn’t, what he can or can’t do, those type of things won’t lead you anywhere, you’re just threadmilling your time away, heading nowhere fast.

Creatives and creators: don’t be complacent, get up, get out and do something. Until then, see y’all next time!
